OVATION FOR ROYALTY CROWDS IN ATTENDANCE [ British Official Wireless. ] Received June 15, 5.45 p.m. RUGBY, June 14. Glorious, cloudless weather favoured the opening of the Ascot meeting, one of the leading social sporting events of the season. The King and Queen, together with members of the Royal family, followed the usual custom of driving along the course t© the Royal Box in four-horse open carriages. The lawns and paddocks were crowded. Their Majesties were given a tumultous reception. The course was in splendid condition and entries exceptionally large.
