Bulls and Athletic, juniors met on Bulls Domain on Wednesday afternoon, the visitors winning by 1.1 points to ' 6. Athletic was much the heavier team and wore down the lighter Bulls boys in the second spell. But it was a spasmodic and straggling game, the weakness of the. home backs in defence be--1 ing most, noticeable. The forwards were evenly matched, and were responsible for the only bright pieces of play. Athletic (red .and black) kicked oIT from the eastern end, Bulls getting the better of tho opening exchanges through Guy darting through and making several good openings. Red forwards regained ground, but Beran cleared with a long kick. The borne forwards set up a passing run, and tho ball went to Bevan, who was pulled down when looking dangerous. Ath-

letic backs broke away and Saville waited for the bounce, which beat him, but Glasgow saved. Another red thrust saw Saville force. Beran led tho blacks back, and kicked across the visitors’ goal line, Wilson forcing. Athletic forwards attacked and Taylor had a fruitless shot at goal. Up and down play followed, and ('arter took a free kick, but just missed the posts. Up field again Saville waited for the bounce, Wilkie racing up and securing to run behind the posts. Taylor converted, and with 25 minutes gone the score read: Athletic 5; Bulls 0. Ray, Bromley, with a fine kick, sent play to the reds’ twenty-five, and a crosskick by Stock saw the visitors in trouble, but they got out of it with a force. Another long kick by Bromley beat Athletic’s full-back, but lack of following up saw a great opportunity missed, the reds forcing. Bulls forwards came through again, and a free to Bulls gave Stock an opportunity to raise the flags with a good goal. Athletic 5; Bulls 3. Half-time sounded with Athletic attacking. Two long kicks by Beran caused the reds to force to save. Another drib bling run with Henderson prominent followed, but the ball went into touch-iu-goal. The home forwards strove hard to score, but reds again forced. Wilson changed the scene with a neat run, but potted ineffectually when he might have scored a try. More up and down play, with Bulls forwards tiring. From a scrum the ball came out on tho blind side to Taylor, who hurled himself over. His kick at go.nl fell short. Athletic 8; Bulls 3. From a .scrum on the home line Stantiall scored a simple try. Taylor again failed to improve. Athletic 11; Bulls 3. Bulls . forwards attacked; then red backs, Bulls forcing twice. Stock followed up a kick-off; secured, and kicked, catching Wilson in possession. From the resulting penalty Stock found the posts, and the game ended: Athletic 11; Bulls 6. Air. E. West wood refereed.
