FORDELL SALE AUCTIONEER’S REPORT At this week’s Fordell sale hold on Thursday, May 12, a good yarding of fat lambs came forward and met with very keen competition from the freezing buyers. Fat lambs showing quality did not decline in value from the sheep sale held a fortnight past, but the inferior fat lambs were down in value about Js per head. Two lines of fat lambs on account of Mr. Chas. AV. Wilson, made 13s and 13s lOd, and another line on account of Mr. A. McNab made J2s 6d. The fat ewes yarded were of a very medium quality but met with a ready sale at late rates. Store sheep were short yarded but were sold on a par with recent The range of prices was as follows: Fat lambs (good), 12s 6d, 13s, 13s lOd; (medium). 10s, 10s 7d, Ils lOd; fat wethers, 12s 6d; fat ewes, 6s 6d to 7s Id; fat and forward ewes, 5s Lid; medium b.f. lambs, 4d; m.s. lambs | (small), 5s 8d; ewes r.w. S.D. rams, 8s j Bd. THE TAIHAPE SALE REPORT FROM AGENTS The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd. report on Taihape sale on May 11 as follows: “Wo had a good yarding of 2200 sheep and a few cattle. Enquiry was good and everything was sold with the exception of one pen of 30 fat ewes passed at Bs. We quote: Good woolly ewe lambs, 12s; shorn ewe lambs, 10s Id, 9s lOd and 9s 3d; cull ewe lambs, 4s to 6s; good woolly wether lambs, Ils lOd; shorn wether lambs, 7s, 5s and 4s 3d; aged ewes, r.w., S.D. rams. 10s 6d to 12s Id: aged ewes, r.w. Rom. ram, 9s 8d: 2-1 noth ewes, r.w., Rom. ram, 1.2 s 3d: aged ewes r.w., Rom. ram, 4s 9d, 6s 3d to 6s 7d; cull ewes, 2s 9d to 3s Id.”
