TELEVISION TESTS
SHORT-WAVE EXPERIMENTS LONDON, May 2. The first demonstration of ultra-short-wave television, transmitting pictures on a screen, was successfully give; in London. Experts agreed that the results were more encouraging than anything previously seen. The definition was reasonably clear. The figures, although minute and flickering, were recognisable. Mr John L. Baird, inventor of the television, explained that the wavelength used was six metres, enabling transmission of television without interfering with ordinary broadcasting.
