SPORTS DAY HELD KEEN COMFETITION SHOWN I Attended by parents, old girls and friends the sports held by tho Wanganui Girls’ College yesterday morning and afternoon were in every way a success. Prior to yesterday the school sports have not been held on a separate day allotted to tlierfi but have been competed for after school hours and at odd intervals when they could be arranged. The innovation was welcomed by the girls especially and also by the parents. They were conducted without, a hitch. During the morning the heats were > run off and the finals were decided in • rhe afternoon. The management was in the capable hands of Airs. Cleland, who had a strenuous time arranging the events and starting them. The standard of the sports was high and the competition good.
