WEDDING
McCartney—mcvicar A very charming wedding was solemnised at St. Mary’s Church, Wanganui, on Tuesday, April 12, when Margaret Alice (Rita), younger daughter of Air. H. R. McVicar and the late Mrs. AfcVicar. formerly of Taranaki, and Patrick Alalachy. youngest son of Mr. and Airs. J. AlcCartney, of Koromiko Road, Wanganui, were united in the bonds of holy matrimony. Rev. Father Hoare, S.M., celebrated the nuptial mass. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a pretty ankle-length frock of white Chantilly lace, with large satin hip bow. She wore the orthodox veil and a coronet of orange blossoms, and carried a sheaf of deep cream roses and maiden-hair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. James Loft, as matron of honour, and by Miss Bernice Head as bridesmaid, both of whom wore similar frocks of Aladonna blue satin boaute, with georgette ruchings to tone, and carried a sheaf of golden chrysanthemums and autumn leaves. Little Marie Loft niece of the bride, looked very sweet in an ankle-length frock of cream mariette with rosebud trimmings and carried a tiny posy. Anthony Loft, nephew of the bride, and Warwick , Keen, who wore the page boys, were dressed in white satin. duties of best man were efficiently carried out by Air. Vincent Crotty, cousin of the bridegroom, whilst the latter’s brother, Air. Joseph McCartney, was groomsman. Mrs. N- McCarthy, the bride’s aunt, played the Wedding Alarch. During mass Air. Leslie AfcCarthy, cousin of the bride, sang Schubert’s “Ave' Alaria.” After the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the Rendezvous. The guests were received by their hostess, Airs. C. J. McCarthy, aunt of the bride, who wore a black ensemble and black pan velvet hat with egret. Mrs. .T McCartney, mother of the bridegroom, wore a black coat and black velour hat with black and white ornament. The happy couple left later for tho South. The bride L travelled in a brown frock trimmed 3 with tangerine, and a brown velour hat L with brown and tangerine quill. She 1 also a. re a beautiful musquash coat.
