THREE MILLION POUNDS RAISED The advertising campaign organised by the American Emergency Unemployment Relief Committee achieved its aim of raising £3,000,000 by November 25. ten days before that date. So advertising was continued in the hope of raising a further £1,500,000. It. was decided that a more cheery appeal than the usual charity one should be adopted. “Do your share and then go ahead and spend” was the theme of all the advertising. The main campaign was centred on Greater New York, but national and subsidiary campaigns were run concurrently.
