The South Africans commenced their second match against Tasmania to-day in splendid weather and on an excellent wicket. Tasmania won the toss, batted first and made a good start of 82 for the first wieke., but afterwards the bowlers obtained the mastery and all were out for 164. South Africa lost Mitchell for a single and Christy for nil, his first “duck” of tho tour, and two were out for four. Dalton, with the first ball from Nash got an ugly hit on tho jaw. He was assisted from the field. The third wicket fell for seven and the fourth for 25. Viljoen and Merkel stayed the collapse, taking the total to
