Old Boys B, at Hawera. All matches set down by the selection •committee must he played unless permission not to play is received from the committee by the clubs concerned. One Saturday in February will be taken up for the match against Rangitikei at Marton. Teams’ Positions. The end of the first round finds Stratford A leading by a point from Old Bovs B, who have game to play, and that against Old Boys A, a team they beat in a friendly match. Old Boys A are lying third, leading Kaponga, High School and Patea by a narrow margin. Anything may happen, but taking into account the addition of Turnbull and Morrison to Old Boys B and the solidity of Stratford A, the deciding match will probablv be when these two meet at Stratford. This should be a fair trial of strength as Stratford’s advantage of playing at home will be offset by their opponent’s asset in having two such clever spin bowlers as Herbert and Sturrock. The local team for to-day’s match against High School will be composed of the following: Jones, Gibbs, Smith, Palmer, Bourke, Grant, Daniel, Paterson, Gordon, Ellis, and McKenna.
