SUCCESSFUL ROSE SHOW Tho annual rose show, held under the auspices of the Anglican Church. District Committee, was held on Wednesday, when a number of very beautiful blooms were displayed. Although the storm on Tuesday had damaged blooms in a number of gardens, tho exhibits were well up to standard. Entries in the sewing section were more numerous than in previous years, but the recently-added crochet section did not draw as many entries as was hoped. In the home industries’ section very few entries were received but the school work and decorative sections were well patronised and record entries in each helped to swell the total number of entries which reached 500, easily a record figure. A feature of the show was a special exhibit of pastel-work and drawing bv tho pupils of the local State School. Tho show was officially opened by Rev. C. R. Krceft, of Hunterville.
