CANTERBURY CROPS DAMAGED [ Per Press Association. ] CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 25. Frost of eight degrees last night caused extensive damage to young fruit, new potatoes and tomatoes throughout North Canterbury. Further damage was caused by a sharp hailstorm in some districts. One grower lost six acres of marrows and pumpkins. At Lecston hailstones broke windows, and hardly one house was not touched in this way. Skylights at the railway station were smashed, as well as the Post Office windows. PHENOMENAL HAILSTORM DAMAGE AT SEAFIELD [ Per Press Association. 1 ASHBURTON, Nov. 25. There was a phenomenal hailstorm at Seafield last evening, hail, the size of small hen eggs, falling for between five and ten. minutes. Many windows were broken.
