RETURNS FALSIFIED. ( Per Press Association. ] CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 25. A deficiency of £6736 was shown in income tax returns for the period of four years, forwarded by Joseph P. Goulding, part proprietor of His Lordship’s Hotel, who was fined £5O, a total of £2OO on each of four charges by Magistrate Lawry to day. Two sisters of defendant were each fined £2. The charges were of wilfully making false returns. The Crown said the yearly profits ranged from £2200 to £5140.
