MARGOT Goes Shopping

Give Slippers for Christmas. Christmas with its genial happy atmosphere will soon be with us and our thoughts turn to gift giving. House slippers are useful and acceptable gifts. At Crichton and Newman’s there ?.re beautiful satin brocaded house shoes, with smart heel and swansdown trim ming. They are priced at 8s lid and the colours are red, nattier blue, green, pink and black. Equally smart and very serviceable are coloured leather slippers with heels (7s lid), while felt with leather toe caps are only 4s lid. Grand Display of Flowers at D.I.C. The D.I.C. in conjunction with the Wanganui Horticultural Society will present a Grand Display of flowers and shrubs in the D.I.C. Annexe Building on Friday next, November 27. No entrance fee is charged for the two classes for competitors and one prize has been donated by the society and the other by the D.I.C. In addition to these classes, which are for the best arranged display of garden flowers and shrubs, and decorated tables, there will be charming displays for exhibition only. Entries will close at noon to-morrow, November 26, with Mr. V. B. Willis. Mesdaincs W. J. Treadwell and C. H. E. Rhodes have kindly consented to judge the entries. There’s no doubt that the display is going to be an event of great interest and beauty and those who love flowers should certainly not fail to see the glories of Wanganui’s most delightful gardens. The display will be open to the public from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the D.I.C. Annexe Building, and no charge will be made for admission.
