Mr H. G. Horsley has been appointed to fill the position recently vacated by Mr W. M. Luxford on the Wanganui Technical School Board of Managers. Mr H. W. Franklin, manager of the outdoor advertising branch of the New Zealand Railways, has etired after 35 years’ service. Lieutenant-Colonel N. A 11. Campbell, formerly aide-de-camp to the Governor of Queensland, arrived at Auckland by the Sierra from Sydney on Saturday on a month's fishing holi day. The following guests are registered at Foster’s Hotel: Mr and Mrs Truscott, Mr L. Sichtenstein, Mr G. Sampson (Auckland); Mr R. R. Thomas, Mr E. C. Hazelton (Wellington); Mr R. G. Routh (England); Mr W. Fornie (Ilunterville); Mr and Mrs McDonald (Palmerston North.; Mrs Strachan • Hamilton). The Rev. J. R. Young, who has been vicar of St. Mary’s Church, Hnwora, for several years. lr been offered and has accepted the charge of Christ Church, Wanganui, rendered vacant hy the •esignation of Archdeacon Cr-ed Meredith. Mr Young will probably leave Hawera in about three months.
Mr Robert Angus, ..ew Zealand , manager for Messrs Thos. Cook and [ Son, having completed 10 years in the service of tho firm, is oeing retired on superannuation at the end of next month. The position of Auckland man age- will be taken by Mr A, Thompson. late of Wellington, Mr R. Clarke, from Christchurch branch, going to Wellington, and Mr R. Ellyett, of Wellington, being transferred to Christchurch.
