MAROONED ON ROCKS

riSHERMAN’S ORDEAL BOAT SINKS IN STORM. BLENHEIM, Nov. 23. Charles Cederholm, a middle-aged fisherman, had a trying experience when he was marooned on some rocks near tho mouth of the Flaxbourne River during a southerly storm. Cederholm went out fishing in a “flattie” at noon on Saturday. The sea became rough, tho boat sank, and he scrambled on to the rocks, on which he spent the night in an exposed position. His predicament was not discovered till late on Sunday, as there were no boats at the settlement. The police arranged for one of Perano’s whaling launches to proceed to the scene from Tory Channel at 3 o’clock this morning, and Cederholm was rescued and set ashore. He suffered surprisingly little from his ordeal.
