DAIRY COMPANY The Rahgiwahia-Ruahino Dairy Company paid lid per lb. to their suppliers lor butter-fat supplied during October, and the total pay-out amounted to £1770. There were 4£ tons more butter made for October than last year, and for the first ten days of November more cream was received than for any similar period in the history of the company. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE Miss Crawford, voluntary organiser, was present at the monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute held on Tuesday afternoon. There was a very good attendance of local members and Mrs. Fox, vice-president, while opening the meeting, welcomed Miss and introduced her to the members. Miss Crawford gave demonstrations in cheese-making and folk-dancing, which were greatly appreciated by the members. The hostesses were Mrs. G. Billinghurst and Misses N. Lynch and D. Fankhauser. Most of the members have now planted their potatoes, kindly donated by Mr. H. N. Thomas, for the potato-growing competition. The hostesses for next time are Mesdames Ellen and L. G. Rose and Miss P. Cameron. A demonstration in moccasin making will be given by Miss Ritchie, of Kimbolton, and as there was only one entry in the woollen competitions the same one will be had again. A bring and buy stall will also be held. LODGE MEETING N.G. Sister A. Boshier presided over a very fair attendance at the fortnightly meeting of the Oddfellows’ Lodge on Wednesday night. As the next meeting falls on election night, no general meeting will be held, but just a public dance. At the close of the meeting a tasty supper was served by the social committee, after which a short dance was held. CARDS The first of a series of card tournaments for library funds was held on Saturday night with tne usual good patronage. The respective winners were: Cribbage, Mrs. J. Collie and Mr. F. Say well; consolations, Mrs. Thomas and Mr. Jaggard. Euchre, Miss G. Morgan and Mr. A. Liddicoat; consolations, Miss A. Boshier and Mr. P. Martin. The winners of the aggregate prizes in the series run by the school committee were: Crib, Mrs. E. H. Monk and Mr. F. J. Saywell; euchre. Miss A. Boshier and Mr. Colin Saywell.
