LAMB AND MUTTON EXPORTS ;> TWELVE MONTHS’ FIGURES ’ Well over 10,000,000 carcases of lamb . and mutton were exported from the Dominion during the twelve months ended September 30. This record is ahown in the returns for the 1930-31 season, is- ’ sued yesterday by the N.Z. Meat Pro- ' ducers’ Board. The exports of lamb ; were 7,824,937 carcases, this record r ligure exceeding tho total for the 1929- ’ 30 season by over one million carcases. The exports of mutton showed an in- ' crease of 331,241 carcases. There was ‘ very little change in the iigures for pork. Details of the exports and destinations of tho frozen meat shipped during 1930-31 are shown in the following table, the totals for 1929-30 being given for comparative purposes:—

In addition 119,445 bags of boneless beef (of which 112,054 bags went to Glasgow) were exported during 1930-31, t as compared with 87,986 bags (75,600 to Glasgow, 3333 to U.S.A., and 946 to j Genoa) during 1929-30. ’ Lamb Killings a Record. 3 The killings of lamb during the seak son just ended were a record at 7,783,1 528 carcases—an increase of 857,669 a carcases over those for tho 1929-30 seal son. On the other hand, killings of mutton at 2,132,532 carcases showed a de--0 crease of 488,743 carcases as compared 1 with 1929-30. The killings of pork at t 132,400 carcases show a slight decrease of 1191 carcases. Killings of mutton in ■ the North Island wore 1,684,148 carcases as compared with 1,935,580 carcases in 1929-30; in the South Island they were 448,384 carcases, as compared with 685,695 carcases in 1929-30.
