GRUESOME FINNISH FIND MANY MUTILATED BODIES I By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright J Received Oct. 13, 9.45 p.m. HELSINGFORS, Oct. 12. The astonishing discovery of 30 corpses, indescribably mutilated, at the bottom of a well, caused the. Finnish police to suspect a widespread outbreak of Satanism, in which limbs are cut off bodies after death. The caretaker of the mortuary at Malm churchyard named Saarenheirao, was arrested and several books on black magic in his possession, also photographs of dead bodies, were confiscated. Since his arrest. Saarenheimo has spent his time singing hvmn tunes with cabbalistic words, but there is no clue to his associates. Meanwhile a number of recent paupers’ graves have been opened and mutilated bodies of both sexes discovered, some from graveyards other than Malm accounting for at least 50 mutilated bodies, also numerous arms and logs found in the well. Black magic, was practised extensivelv in Russia before the war. and possibly refugees have reintroduced th n practises into Finland. Scotland Yard is assisting the Finnish police in their investigations.
