CHALLENGE BOWL EVENT MELLSOP CUP COMPETITION I Per Press Association. 1 ROTORUA, Oct. 12. The Ladies’ Golf Union Challenge Bowl event, played this afternoon following tho completion of the third round of tho N.Z. ladies’ golf championship, was won by Miss M. Stevens (Pupukc), 77-4—73. Tho best card in the opposite division for players on 11 to 18 handicap was returned by Mrs B. Preston (Akarana), with the score of 8915 — 74. Tho Mellsop Cup competition for the three best gross scores will be completed to-morrow. The presen position is that Miss O. Kay leads with 156 and Miss M. Stevens is second with 159.
