BOYS ON FARMS
Sir, —In regard to the scheme for finding positions for boys on farms, to which you have rendered such great assistance, I am pleased to bo abla to inform you that reports received from both boys and farmers indicate that it is working out very satisfactorily. I cannot bettor illustrate this than by quoting two extracts from letters that have been received by Mr D. McFarlane, o whose untiring efforts the success of the scheme is due. Mrs Dexter, who has also assisted many boys in the way of clothing, receives regular correspondence to the same effect from many of tho boys. “I wish to thank you for the position which you have secured for m®. I have a good home and the work is very interesting. I like it very much.” “Well, we are getting along fine now. We have both got a few blisters on our hands but they are hardened. You sent us to a good pla*ee and we only wish it would last for a few months. We do not like tho thought of leaving as it is just like home to us.” The position at present is that sixtythree boys have been placed and that more boys arc wanted. Parents of boys who arc requiring work are, therefore, requested to communicate with Mr D. McFarlane, who has several farmers on his list willing to provide places. Yours faithfully, * N. G. ARMSTRONG, Mayor.
