Parsons, of Wanganui, am. trained by Mr H. L. Russell at Te Awa mutu, was destroyed fit Ellerslie thi: morning. He got galloped on while contesting the Hobson Handicap at E] lerslie last Monday, and the tendon 0.1 his off hind leg was severed. Attempt! were made to save him, but it was fount impossible. Aspian showed great promise as £ two-year-old last season, running Am mon Ra to a head in the Wellington Stakes at Trentham. Aspian also ran third to Ammon Ka and La Poupee in the Great Northern Foal Stakes. Last season Mrs. Parsons refused an offer of 2000 guineas for Aspian, saying that the colt was not fur sale.
