FIRE IN COUNTY SHED A fire was discovered about four o’clock on Saturday afternoon in the Manawatu County’s lorry shed. The light motor truck was on fire. Mr H. V. Bond and his staff were working at the office and a patent extinguisher wm tired to quell the outbreak, but the fire had too big a hold. The other portions of tho shed were cleared and the fire was eventually got under with the aid of tow hand pumps. It is fortunate that the walls were built of concrete, as with the high wind blowing, the houses adjoining would probably have caught also. The cause of tho fire is a mystery. The truck was the last vehicle in the shed, just before one o’clock, and all then appeared safe.
