THE FEILDING SALE At the Fcilding sale on Friday, Associated Live Stock Auctioneers, Ltd., report exceptionally good entries of fat and store sheep and dairy cattle, fair yarding of fat cattle and small of stores. Fat Sheep.—These included a number of prime wethers and ewes, but there were also numerous pens showing lack of finish, and several of decid lly inferior quality. Dairy Cattle.—Forward and quality heifers again met with a ready demand, backward and inferior sorts were neglected. SUCCESSFUL CLEARING SALE Favoured by fine weather the largest gathering ever assembled at a clearing sale in the Feilding district was present at Mr J. J. Bryce’s farm, Kiwitea, -when the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Distributing Co., Ltd. conducted a dispersal sale of livestock, implements, etc. on the 20th instant. An indication of the large crowd cun be gathered from the fact that there were over 250 cars on the road line, and the sale throughout was characterised by keen buying. Mr J. J. Bryce has been well and favourably known in the district for many years, and buyers from Wellington to Wanganui competed for his stock. Sheep.—slo ewe hoggets, small, but in fair conditions, brought 12s 3d to Us Ud. 295 wether hoggets, small, 8s lOd to 8s 4d. Dairy Stock. —AU cows showing any quality were in great demand. Good young Jersey-cross, close to profit, realised £l4 15s, £l2 15s, £l2 ,10s, £lO, £9 10s, £B, £7 10s, £7; good cows in milk, some in light condition, brought £ll 15s. £ll 10s, £9 15s, £9 ss, £8 10s, £B, £7 10s, £7; lower conditioned lots sold at from £5 to £3. Good Jersey-cross heifers fetched from £9 to £4, according tc condition. A line of 20 yearling heifers out of good cows met a good demand at prices ranging from £3 2s Gd to £1 17s Gd. Young calves sold at from 6s to 3s 6d. Horses—The draught horses were most.lv aged sorts, and brought £23, £22 10s, £2l 10s, £l6 10s. The demand foi light horses was not keen, prices rang ing from £lO 10s downwards. Pigs.—A most spirited demand set ir for all pigs and every lot offered brought top prices. Purebred Tam worth sows with litters ranged from £lO 2s 6d to £5 10s. Store pigs in good con dition, sold at 325, 30s. and 255. Maiden sows, six months, fetched £2 Is to 30s. Implements and Sundries. A vcm large and varied range of implements was keenly competed for, the main lots realising as follows:—Bamford mower £26 ss; Fordson tractor, £2O 10s; MeYUistcr drill. £l9 10s; hayrake, £l5; haysweep, £l4 10s; haypress, £27; keystone threshing mill, £l6; tripod harrows. £l3 10s; block dray, £9 10s; D.F plough, £10; Cambridge roller, £9; and numer ■ ' ; other lots at full values.
