WAITOTARA
SCHOOL CONCERT. The Waitotara Hall bore a gay appearance, having been tastefully decorated for the occasion of the annual school concert by the pupils of the Waitotara School on Thursday. There was a capacity house and the alrge audience showed their appreciation in no uncertain manner, of the efforts of th< children, who revealed a high standard of training. Encores were the order of the evening. Great praise is due to Mr and Mrs Fitzgerald and Miss Johansen, assisted by Miss G. Fitzgerald and Mr W. Simpson, on the result of their efforts. Mrs Sutton. Mrs Fitzgerald and Nancy Lee filled admirably the onerous duties of accompanists, and members of the White Star Orchestra lent their assistance. The lighting effects were ably controlled by Mr A. Hurley. At the close of the concert Mr H. J. Wilson (chairman'}. on behalf of the committee and audience, expressed thanks to the teacher and all those who assisted in making the concert a success. Supper for the .Jl'iri-H was piovided by the committee, and danJing until midnight terminated one of the most successful school functions ever held in Waitotara.
