ITALY AND DR. STOPES. AN OFFICIAL INVITATION. ROME, Aug. 19. Dr. Marie Stopes has been officially invited to speak on birth control at the International Congress on September 7 for the study of population. The invitation points out that propaganda will not be permitted, and the subject must be treated purely scientifically. A cable message in June stating that Dr. Marie Stopes had been invited *.n visit Italy in connection with birth control was denied, hut she persisted in her statement that she had been invited.
