The New Zealand cricketers commenced their match against Norfolk in fine weather. The wicket was easy, a strong wind assisting the bowlers. In the New Zealand team Vivian, Lowry and Blunt were omitted. Norfolk: Bought (3), Falcon, Walker, Fedder, Smith, Chad, Foster, Coldham, Eagle. Page won the toss but New Zealand started badly. Scores were as follow: New Zealand (First Innings).
