HOPES FOR AGREEMENT. MR STEVENS' STATEMENT. deceived August 18, 9.55 p.m. VANCOUVER, Aug. 18. The Federal Minister of Trade and Commerce, Mr Stevens, expressed the hope here that a trade agreement would soon be made with New Zealand. He said: “Wo are in constant touch with New Zealand and are anxious and ready for an amicable agreement with that Dominion. I am confident that we shall do so when the present general election in New Zealand is over. ”
