FARMERS’ UNION

BRANCH RE-ESTABLISHED. MEETING AT WANGAEIIU. A decision was reached at a meeting of farmers at Wangachu last Monday night to re-establish the Wangachu branch of the Farmers’ Union, and to organise tho district. The meeting was most enthusiastic, and was addressed by Messrs Currie. Nelson and Seddon. who spoke on matters relative to the activities of the union. It was decided to hold meetings on the second Monday of eacn month. It was hoped that at these meetings the farmers will be addressed by officers of the Agricultural Department. Thirty-tyro members were enrolled. Following was the election of officers: Chairman, Mr C. C. Baldwin: vice-chairman, Mr L. A. Macintosh; secretary, Mr M. Baker; committee. Messrs B. Kenny, C. Collins, L. Donovan, E. Ryan, A. Jamieson, M. Cavanagh, H. Hiroti, C. Honeyman. C. Richardson; delegates to the provincial executive, Messrs Baldwin, Macintosh and Baker.
