CHICHESTER’S MISHAP
THE PATIENT COMFORTABLE. [ Per Press Association. ) WELLINGTON, Aug. 18. The following further telegram was received by the Governor-General last evening from the British Ambassador at Tokio: The Vice-Consul has now returned to Kobe and reported that Mi Chichester’s eye is bruised, a bone in the right fore-arm bruised, and one ver tebra between the shounder-blade is causing him some pain. The wound in the thigh is healing. The doctors contemplate his complete recovery in three weeks. Mr Chichester told the A iceConsul that he was very comfortable and did not wish to be moved. The doctors apparently do not now think it is necessary. WALKING IN FEW DAYS. Received August 18. 9.45 p.m. TOKIO, Aug. 18. Mr Saski, chief of the Osaka airport who is visiting Mr Chichester, says that he is making favourable progress and will be walking in a few days. Mr Chichester’s machine was wrecked beyond repair, but the engine was not damaged.
