WAVERLEY

PERSONAL Air H. L. Norris received notice of his transfer to the Ohakune Post Office staff recently, and left Waverley last Thursday. Air Norris will be greatly missed in Athletic circles in Waverley, as during the past season he acted as secretary of the Waverley-Waitotara Athletic Association, in which capacity he proved a most energetic officer. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE At the usual monthly meeting of the Waverley Women’s Institute last Tuesday, Rev. Coles gave a most interesting address on missionary work in Africa, based on his own experiencesThere was an attendance of seventeen members, Mrs Sutherland presiding. At the conclusion of the address afternoon tea was dispensed by Mesdames Gif kins, Anderson and Miss Anderson, hostesses for the afternoon. A vote of thanks was accorded Rev. Coles for his most instructive address. LOCAL BODIES Very little business was transacted at the usual monthly meetings of the Waverley Town, and Domain Boards, which met last Wednesday, Air A. J. Adlam presiding over both boards, which met in succession. The Town Board accorded Mr W. . Morrison, the district representative on the Wanganui-Rangitikei Power Board, ; a hearty vote of thanks for his work in connection with power matters in the Waverley Town district.
