General Situation. —Yesterday’s anti-cyclone is moving off New Zealand and the first of a fresh series of depressions is approaching the South Island. Forecast.—Winds: Moderate to strong northerly winds reaching gale force in parts of Cook and Strait areas. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough south of Capo Egmont and offshore south of Castlepoint, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong northerly winds to gales and rough seas. Weather.* Unsettled in districts with a westerly aspect and rain developing. Fair at first in eastern districts, but rain gradually extending to scattered parts. Temperatures mild.
