Air P. Higginbottom is on a businc visit to Wellington.

Mr R. A. Rose and Mrs Rose were in Wanganui last night, and leave today for Inglewood.

Air J. Emmett, accompanied by MrEmmett, sang to the Wanganui Rotary Club at its weekly luncheon yesterday The items were much appreciated.

Mr E. T. Frowde, of the head office of the New Zealand Loan and Afercantilo Agency Co., Ltd., has been appointed manager of the company’s Timaru branch and will leave Wellington shortlv.

Alajor J. T. Watson, secretary of the Wellington branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, lias been ordered a complete rest from his duties and may not return to his office for a number of weeks.

Amongst the guests at Foster’s Hotel are: Mr R. J. Mansen (Palmerston North), Nir C. R. Corbeid (Koroniti), Mr and Mrs Prosser (Auckland), Mr C. E. Morris (Wellington), Mr J. H. Hinds and Mr T. L. Cork (New Plymouth), and Miss E. King (Dunedin).

Mr W. W. Bird, superintendent of Native and Island Education, has left for Suva to conduct the annual inspection of schools in the Fiji Islands in accordance with the scheme of cooperation agreed upon between the Fiji and New Zealand Governments. Mr Bird will return to New Zealand in September.

Air T. H. Henderson, Inspector of Ambulance Services in New South Wales, arrived in Wellington from England by the Tainui yesterday. He left Australia in May as a delegate to the celebrations in London in connection with the centenary of the reintroduction into England of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem.

Ata meeting of the Wanganui Primary Schools’ Rugby Union on Friday last feeling reference was made by the president, Mr F. C. Jannings, to' the passing of Mr C. H. Warden, a former president whose support had always been greatly valued. In his capacity of president of the Wanganui Metropolitan Rugby Union, Mr Warden had the interests of the younger players at heart. A letter of sympathy was forwarded to the widow and familv.
