ALLEGED MURDER

CHARGE AGAINST WIFE THE TRAGEDY AT WESTPORT (Per Press Association). WESTPORT, Aug. 9. An. inquest touchii g the death of Frederick Upham was held yesterday do fore Mr E. R. Fox, coroner. Detective Holmes appeared for the police and others. Edward Uphain, coal dealer, gave evidence of identification, stating that ne had viewed the body which was that of his nephew, who was 32 years of age. Lena Maud Upham, in the court, was the wile of deceased. Detective Holmes asked for an adjournment sine die. Messrs Mo.oney and Black, who watched proceedings on behalf of Mrs Up am, consented apd the adjournment was granted sine die. Lena Maud Upham was then charged before Messrs E. R. Fox and C. D. Botts, Justices, with the murder of Frederick Uphain, of Westport, on August 7. Detective Holmes applied for a remand to August 26. Messrs Moloney ami Black raised no objection ami the remand was granted.
