RANGITIKEI ELECTORATE
Sir, —As a Rangitikei elector 1 have been greatly interested in the political discussion originated by .Ur Tye. I have been a supporter of the Reform Government for many years and I now find myself in a difficult position. Remembering the frightful extravagance of the Re form Party under Mr Coates it is impossible for anyone having the true interests of New Zealand at heart, to now support any party led by Mt Coates. If Mr Stewart, candidate for Rangitikei, ; s pledged to follow M< Coates he certainly will not get my vote. People who earn their living from the land could never support a Labour candidate unless they were ig norant of the real aim and policy ot that party. Mr Forbes has certain)' showed more backbone than many thought possible, but his Govcr 'on l cannot be considered ideal. The. only solution, it appears to me. is a fusion of the Reform and Liberal Parties ami the selection therefrom of a strong Cabinet. Would that we had more nwn of the ability and independence of Mr G. V Pearce, who is a candidate fot the Patea seat, to take hold of the country’s affairs at the present mo mont. 1 am, etc.. COUNTRY VOTER.
