MOTOR-CYCLE MISHAP
YOUNG MAN’S MISFORTUNE [ Per Press Association. ] CARTERTON, Aug. 8. A young man named W. R. Nankerille, aged 28, of Petone, employed on f. D. Riddiford’s .station at Lagoon {’lls, Martinborough, met with a motorvcle accident on Thursday afternoon, received a message from his wife t Petone that their small daughter was cry ill and he mounted the cycle to go to her. On reaching Kaiawaiwai he back tyre burst, the cycle left the road and dashed : nto a fence. Nankcrviile struck his head, inflicting a deep rush, and broke an arm. A passing motor lorry picked him up and conveyed him to Kelvin Hospital at Feathrston. He was attended bv Dr G. S. harp. The patient regained conscious- ■ ess late vesterdav afternoon and is •inking sn* : • tn rv nrogress.
