SEAFIELD CLUB VICE-CAPTAIN'S TROPHY SATURDAY’S BOGEY MATCH The bogey match played by the Beafield Golf Club on Saturday for the vice-captain’s trophy was favoured with almost perfect weather. The result was as follows: R. Carruthers 3 up. A. L. Thompson 3 down. The following were each 5 down:— C. O. Moulder, G. H. Bean, F. 11. Bell. A. Lamont, C. Trask, W. Newsham and A. .Ramsay. WANGANUI CLUB BALGOWNIE CUP PLAY RESULT OF FIRST ROUND A few days without rain the Belmont course had dried up considerably by Saturday, when Wanganui Golf Club members played the first 'vund of the Balgownie Cup under excellent conditions. R. G. Handley, on the 23 mark, led the field with 2 up, while C. F. Treadwell and V. B. Haworth, 1 up, were next on the list. There are sever-L others, however, as will be seen by the scores, who may have to be considered when the second round is played on August 22. The scores were as follows: R. G. Handley (23/17) 2 up. Bogey Match The bogey match played in conjunction with the first, round resulted in C. F. Treadwell and V. B. Haworth tieing for the A grade with 1 up dnd R. G. Handley winning the B grade with 2 up. Manawatni Next Saturday Players of 15 handicap and over who can make tho trip to Palmerston North next Saturday and have not already handed in their names should do so immediately.
