WEATHER FORECAST

General Situation. —Very deep depressions continue to pass south of New Zealand, but an anti-cyclone is moving on to eastern Australia, and barometers may be expected to rise during the week-end. Forecast.—Winds: North-westerly at first in eastern districts between Kaikoura and East Cape, otherwise west to south-west, squally generally and in places reaching gale force. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough to heavy on the West Coast and about Fovcaux Strait, elsewhere moderate to rather rough. Eastern Tasman. Sea: Strong west to south-west winds to gales and rough seas. Weather: Squally and changeable, intermittent rain in most districts, but more especially those with a westerly aspect. Snow on the high levels. Temperatures becoming cooler.
