The first challenge match for the Wilson Cup, held by tho Wanganui Golf Club, will be played at Belmont to-morrow, when Mauawatu will attempt to wrest the trophy from the defenders. The challengers are sending up a very strong team indeed, and the match, which will be commenced at 12.45 p.m., has attracted a considerable amount of interest. The respective teams will be announced to-morrow morning. As far as club competitions are concerned, no official club matches will be played at Belmont to-morrow, this being in order to allow all chose with unplayed games in tho championships, the Imlay Cup and the Consolation Handicap to fulfil their engagements. Those still in the competition should make an effort to play their matches so as to avoid the necessity of tho committee having to decide the matches by means of the draw. Players should note that on account of the Wilson Cup mat cm starting times cannot be booked for between 12.45 and 1.45 p.m.
