AN UNWELCOME VISITOR As the outcome of theft from Mr Horace Wilson’s roadside letter-box. reported on May 6. a man named William i Erie Cooper, labourer, aged 26 years, of no fixed address, appeared before Justices at Palmerston North on Thursday to face charges of theft and fraud. Tho charges against accused were that on AJay 6 at Bulls he obtained from Air C. C. Price by means of false pretence, by obtaining cash for a cheque of £2 13s drawn in favour of George Hannah, an employee of Mr Horace Wilson. Accused pleaded guilty to all charges, and was sentenced to three months on the fraud charge, and one month on the theft charges, the sentences to bo concurrent. After leaving Bulls Cooper had proceeded to Napier, and he was already serving a sentence of three months t’o- theft there.
