A NOVEL WELCOME FOR ITES BY ‘TAURANGAKOE’

Dear Wendy,—-Another Ite turned up to the reunion of the Old Brigade. It was “Florette” that suggested us writing to you, and so it’e here you will need to thank for having a few scribbled lines from this truant Ite. I’m looking forward to the picnic ever so eagerly, as I’ve promised to welcome all the Ites to the grounds Maori fashion. I’m sure I’ll feel very shy, but I must do my best to overcome that. Congrats “Mick,” for gaining such a high order: but you and “Happy” well deserve Z.S.W.M. at the end of your names. Oh. wouldn’t I love to know who "Mick,” Z.S.W.M., and “Bi Nai” are, as I. too, attended the last up-river dance. Next time I write I will tell you why I adopted my pen-name, which means “no landing.” Heaps of aroha. From | ’‘T AURA NG AKORE, ” Wa ngan u i. Goodness me, but I owe our “Florette” quite a huge debt for so many of our old members paying our Hut a visit this week. She has worked like a Trojan indeed. How jolly to welcome the Ites at the picnic in the native way. Yes, do tell us why you choose u name so novel.—We.ndy. “BONES,” Marton,—l hope you spent a happy time and received lots of lovely presents on your birthday, dear. the time does fly by. Why, just think it will be ’Xmas again before we are aware of it. Oh. dear, no! You cannot feel so old as that. I cannot understand what has become of our Weather Clerk either. We have had such changeable weather. I hope you will like . your new home. You will be sure to write and tell me all about it. 1 will place your request upon our Notice Board for vou. | I Wendy.
