DEAR OLD "THISTLEDOWN'S" SUGGESTION

Dear Wendy, - Here I am once again to let you fiee that I am still alive and well, f hope you are the same. It has been very cold of late, in fact. 1 believe it was snowing on the highlands the other day. It is possible to notice that King Winter is now approaching. My brother has had a little pup sent to him, and such a mischievous Tittle imp it is, too. He brought it h*»ine last Sunday for us to see. and it is such a dear little thing. It is black and white and i« descended from very good dogs. Its mother and father have won many prizes at dog trials. It just sits up in the car like a human being, and as if to say, “I’m entitled to the front seat.” When it was let. out of the enr, it tore for its life into the front bedroom and came out with two huge sheets of paper in its mouth. 1 forget to say that it came out with its life also. I thought perhaps you might think that it. left its life in the bedroom and came out with, the sheets of paper. There was a children's fancy dress ball in Waverley on Friday night. I did not go, but I suppose some of the Ites will write and tell you all about it. I know that if "Queen Starlight” was there she would tell you all about it. She is a merry little Ite, is she not? She is only a little tot for her age. Perhaps she'd be about 6in. high and in the 9th standard. Oh! I think I'm putting it on a bit too much, but she is so tiny alongside the others at school that are in the same position as she. There seems to be quite a few working hard to gain their proficiency certificates this year. I believe "Gold Wings” is one of them, so I suppose that accounts for us not hearing from Tier for such a long while. I see that "Yellow Blossom” has not written again yet. 1 will have to get on to her next time I see her. If she doesn’t write then we'll send “Tiger Tim” after her; then she will he frightened to venture out the back door. She wil] have to stay in and perhaps she may think of something to do to stop herself from being so scared. She may then think of writing to you. We ought to have a dozen tigers so that could send one to each one who has not written for such a long while. The only thing is, that I’d be scared of going out the Hut door, and while I was thinking of something to do. I’d wish that I'd never mentioned them. Well. I am talking a great deal of rot, aren't 1? I am sending in a piece of poetry for our pages called, "The Robin’s Diary." Well, I think 1 have taken up enough space, so I'll now close, hoping vou and all our happy hand are well From “THISTLEDOWN.” Waverley. Yes, dear, the weather has been cold. Snow has made its appearance on the higher levels, too. according to reports. The puppies are mischievous little rascals, aren't they? How lucky your brother i« to possess such a pet. I hope our “Queen Starlight" will tell us about the ball if h e went. Everyon< jeemi to be working industriously for their proficiencies. I hope everyone gains a pass this year. Would be jolly, wouldn it not? Oh. 1 think that would be too drastic. You see tigers are such fearsome-looking anim.J
