HINDU’S TRAGIC DEATH COMMENTS BY CORONER HAMILTON, June IL Au inquest into the death of a Hindu hawker, Sukba Parsot, who fch beneath the Hamilton-Auckland excur sion train at Frankton Junction ou Sunday evening, was held before tht coroner, Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., to day. Auother Hindu hawker, Jeraiu Bhikha, deposed that on Sunday evening Parsot, witness and two couipan ions went to the station to bid fare well to two of their countrymen who were returning to Auckland. Thej went into the carriage and when the train began to move they jumped off. Parsot jumped off backwards and fel> between the platform and the carriage. Dr J. G. Alackereth, of tho staff ui the Waikato Hospital, deposed that the cause of death was fracture of the spine, with hemorrhage and paralysis.. The acting-guard of the excursion I rain, John William Snelgar, describes the accident. He said no steps were taken to ascertain the names of those who had broken the regulations by jumping off the train while it was H motion. Tho coroner found that Parsot died from injuries received through falling off a moving train. lie added that quite a number of people jumped oil the train after it had started and no one took much notice of it. The only oflicer near was the witness Snelgar, and ho was too far away to see who they wore. It did not seem to strike him that, it was his duty to find out who they wore. Mr Wilson said this was the second accident at Frankton Junction recently. He did not know how such accidents could be obviated but he thought, there should be one or two officers available wnen trains were going out to see that tho regulations were observed.
