WANGANUI CLUB PREPARATION EOR MASTERTON | BIG TEST TO-MORROW ’ In preparation fur the annual race for the Benson Trophy the Wanganui Harrier Club is taking its training more seriously than it had ever done before. To-morrow afternoon a test race with sealed handicaps is to be held over the I'u Bramwell course of 6j miles on which the race is to be run on Saturday fortnight; Meeting at the main gate of the racecourse in Ingestre Street the harriers will line up to be ready for the run at 2.45. Tho run is to be regarded as a real test and will be followed closely by the judges and officials of the club. The field will start together in a bunch and the best man in the club will arrive home first. On conclusion of the race tho sealed handicaps will be revealed and some runner who, though he may have tailed the field all the afternoon, may lind that he has been allotted the j winner. The committee has the programme for th- 1 entertainment and the management of the Benson Trophy race on June 27 wel 1 under way and nothing is being left undone. Members who find That, they uill be able to help with the bill's ing of the Alasterton men are asked 1"[ notify the, secretary. Their assistance in this direction will be greatly appro i ciated.
