gebl guides. Tho Mangaweka Girl Guides held their annual ball in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Thursday evening. There was a large attendance of visitors and inends and tho music supplied by Tui’s Orchestra, of Taihape, added greatly to the success of the gathering. Among those present were:—The Girl Guides’ committee and chaperons—Mrs Fairman (District Commissioner) Mrs Sweet (president), Mrs Deighton’(vicepresident), Mrs Lawson, Mrs Blake. Mrs Waugh, Mrs Kirkby, Mrs Wavmouth, Mrs Watson, Mrs Dickinson and (committee), Mrs Graham, Miss Sweet, Miss Deighton (2), Mrs Anderson (Wanganui). Miss K. Graham, Miss Trewby (Guide Captain), Miss Me Neill, Miss D .Hamilton, Miss Dickin son (3), Miss Blake, Mrs M. Graham. Mrs Trewby, Mrs Bramley, Miss B Bailey, Miss Phyn, Miss Freeman Miss McGregor, Miss Busby (Hawke’s Bay) Miss Davies, Mrs L. Smith, Mrs Txive. Miss Eoach, Miss M. Busby, Mrs Dan brey, Miss Burrell, Miss V. Knight, Miss B. Goodwin, Mrs Whitcombe, Mrs Stonson, Miss Bunker. Miss Neill Miss Brown (2), Mrs Elliott. A meeting of tho Loystl Bangitikei Lodge, 1.0.0. F., Wanganui, was held on Thursday evening, Bro. H. Jacob, N.G . presiding, assisted by Sister A. .Durham, V.G. During the evening visitors were received from the Loyal Hautapu Lodge, the Loyal Bangawahia Lodge and from the Loyal Marton Lodge, together with Bro. Fowler, the District Grand Master. The visitors were welcomed by Bro. Warrilow, P.G. Bro. Fowler spoke on behalf of the Loyal Marton Lodge, Bro. Glenhill, P.G., on behalf of the Hautapu Lodge, and Bro. Martin, N.G., on behalf of the Loval Bangiwahia Lodge. After the toast'of tho evening Bro. Fowler, D.G.M., ad dressed the meeting on behalf of all the visiting officers and members and thanked tho Mangaweka Lodge for their invitation. The following nominations were received for the various officers for the ensuing term:—Sister A. Durham, N.G.; Bro. Stinson, V.G.; Bro. Daubrey, McCoad, Stowers, Gray, for E.G.; Bros. Williams, Biackier, MaeDonald and C. Varley for Warden; Bros. Hall Evans and Wright for Guardian. The right and left supporters will be appointed on the night of in stallation. Mrs A. C. Hall was propos od as an lion, member, and Mrs G. Hooper as a benefit member. Accounts to the amount of £l2 were passed for payment, and also £2l sick pay. Alter tho closing of the. lodge the members retired to the supper room and partook of a very excellent sup per. Dancing was then indulged in until I sum., the music being supplied by Sisters Martin and Mend and Bros. Fouler and Jacob, thus ending a very enjoyable evening. PEESONAL. Mr AV.
