FIRST PORT OF CALL ENGLAND AUSTRALIA AIR ROUTE Received Mav 17, 5.5 p.m. DARWIN, May 17. A crowded ‘public’ meeting -passed- a resolution advocating that Darwin be the first port of call for overseas aeroplanes. Speakers claimed that there were many excellont landing grounds .iu the vicinity of Darwin, whereas at Wyndham they were not so .fayqurgiljly.sjtu; ated, as the salt marsh there could not be used for many months of the year.
