MINERALS FOR POULTY
ESSENTIAL TO HEALTH Minerals arc just as essential in the poultry ration as proteins, carbohy drates or vitamins. They will only serve the functions for which nature intended them, however, and will not lake the place of vitamins, meat scraps or milk in the ration. Meat scraps and milk contain large quantities of calcium and phosphorus, so when these are included in the ration the supply of minerals from other sources need not he as great. An ordinary ration provides the whole of the minerals necessary. except calcium ami phosphorus. Too little mineral in the ration results in leg weakness in the growing ehi< |< and, where there, is not enough mineral. leg weakness cannot be overcome a rt i ficially.
