At the end of a strenuous day spent in touring engineering factories and speaking on his recent, South American tour, and attend...g at the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce dinner, the Prince of Wales paid a visit in the small hours of this morning to glass works at Smethwick, where is produced tho glass used in the majority of the world’s lighthouses and some of the best optical and scientific instruments in the world. The workmen on the night shift gave the Prince and his brother, Prince George, a rousing cheer as they left. This morning the Princes flew on to Manchester, where the Prince of Wales to-day again addressed business men ’ on trade openings in South America. ‘ Ho advised more intense advertising of British wares and urged the necessity of adopting British goods, whose repur tation for quality stood extremely high in South America, to special requirements of the particular overseas markets. ,
