OFFERS TO PURCHASE. GOVERNMENT WOULD SELL. | The willingness of the Government to I dispose of the motor vessel Maui Pomare, which is engaged in tho Islands trade, was intimated in a letter received by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce from the Primo Minister, last week. “Tho Government would be prepared to consider an offer from private enterprise to take over the Maui Pomare and to operate the present service with Niue and Samoa, subject, of course, to satisfactory guarantees being forthcoming that the service would be continued as it is at present being carried out,” said M r Forbes.
