PERSONAL Mr and Mrs C. F. Bowick leave today t-o spend a fortnight in the Taihape district. Air and Mrs C. C. Southey left yesterday for Tauranga, where they will spend the school vacation holiday. At “Drysdale,” Pukeroa, on Friday last, Mr and Mjs Ross Livingston were entertained by vhe settlers on the occasion of their proposed departure from the district. During the evening Mr J. N. Armit, on behalf of many friends, presented Mr and Mrs Livingston with a handsome clock, wishing them, every happiness and success in the future. A very pleasant, evening was held in the Anglican Sunday School room on Thursday ight, when the local company of Girl Guides entertained Miss AL Ross, their late captain, at a farewell evening, in view of her approaching marriage, after which she will leave the district. Visitors were present from Rata and Marton. Games and dancing were the order of the evening and a jolly time was spent. Captain Jean Gordon, during the evening presented the guest of honour with a gold trefoil r.s a small token of the esteem in which she was hold by the guides and spoke in eulogistic terms of her untiring efforts in the interests of tho company and thanked her for the happy relationships they hail had. Miss Ross suitably replied, stating that she has been very sorry to sever her connections with the company.
