KITCHEN TEA The Wavcrley Golf Club-house was the centre of a very enjoyable afternoon last Thursday, when lady members of the club met together to honour Miss A. McGregor, who is to be married next week.

The afternoon had been arranged in the form of a kitchen tea and as a result there was a large pile of mysterious shaped parcels for Aliss McGregor to open at the proper time. Driving and approaching and putting competitions were held during the afternoon, and were the centre of keen interest. Mrs D. Lupton won the driving, and Aliss J. Lupton the approach ing and putting competitions. The club captain, Airs Harvey, in handing tho parcels to Miss AlcGregor, asked her to accept them with all best wishes for her future happiness from her sister members of the golf club. They all hoped to see her still taking an active interest in the club. The honoured guest replied in a brief speech, thanking them for their kind thoughts and most appreciated gifts. Afternoon tea and the singing of “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow” brought the happy afternoon to a close. There were almost fifty members present.
